Parents themselves play a protagonistic role in the building of their children’s self-esteem. Therefore, how should the parents’ behaviour towards their children be so that their offspring will acquire healthy self-esteem which will shield them against the challenges of life. It is worth mentioning that the children who believe in themselves have the best “weapon” in their quiver since it gives them strength, courage, patience and perseverance to concentrate on and achieve their goals and, generally, to enjoy life. Conversely, in children with low self-esteem, challenges can be a source of anxiety and frustration. Furthermore, as they do not believe in themselves, not only do they produce thoughts of negative self-criticism but, they also become passive.
